Q: I just installed DesktopProfile. When I go to the System Reports and select one of the reports (Last Hour), why do I get a "...no data found" error? A: DesktopProfile actually builds these three reports based on the selected time range, each as a separate HTML page, in the "www" subdirectory of the main DesktopProfile application folder. When you first start running DesktopProfile, data may not present because the time selected does not match the data in the database. Try selecting Last Day or Last Week Q: When trying to start the DesktopProfile server I get the exception: "Address in use (port 80)" Can I use another port? A: If you are using VisualRoute, or another application, that has its port pointing to 80 (the default http port), please change the port within DesktopProfile to another port that you have available, i.e. 8001, 8080.Q: If I've forgotten my password, how I can get into the system, and is it possible for me to change it? A: There is no way to find out the current password (this is a security feature). It is a 'one-way' function. To start over, delete the startup.ini file which is found in the “config” directory in the install directory, e.g. c:\<user install directory name>\config\startup.ini .Q: How do I configure DesktopProfile on my machine? A: Start up DesktopProfile, and select the “setup” toolbar from the “home” toolbar. Then select “server” from the setup toolbar. Configure the port number to the desired value (see below):Q: How do I add an IP address of a device or a host to DesktopProfile? A: The best way to do this is to us the how to tutorial and click on the topic of 'add a host/device'Q: How do I add a group to DesktopProfile? A: The best way to do this is to us the how to tutorial and click on the topic of 'add a fixed group' or 'add an attribute group'Q: What is the difference between a fixed group and an attribute group? A: A fixed group is a folder not unlike a folder in File Explorer on a Windows PC. When created it has nothing in it until you place an IP device or Devices into the folder. A fixed group folder is yellow in colour and thus easily identifiable. See how to topic 'add a fixed group'. An attribute group is basically the opposite of fixed. An attribute folder when created automatically populates the folder with IP devices based on attributes set for the folder. Attributes are just labels that allow you assign a value. All IP devices which match that value will appear in the folder. See how to topic 'add an attribute group' Q: What if I need support?
